Perhaps that isn’t a question you need to answer for yourself. What might the Father want you to recognise about how He has created you and the ways He has prepared you?

Why does this keep stirring in me?
A need. A group of people. Something that leaves you thinking, Surely it doesn’t have to remain this way. Rather than rushing to decide what it means, perhaps it is something to bring before the Lord.
I want to share my faith, but how?
Perhaps you can begin with what you already know: Where have you encountered the faithfulness of Jesus? What have you seen Him do?
What do I really have to contribute?
Perhaps there is more to recognise than you realise — not by searching for something impressive about yourself, but by noticing the workmanship and faithfulness of God throughout your story.
You don't need to force an answer.
You can begin by bringing your questions before the One who already knows the whole story.

When the Lord spoke to Moses from the burning bush and told him He was sending him to Pharaoh, Moses responded with a question many of us may recognise:
"Who am I that I should go to
Pharaoh and bring the children
of Israel out of Egypt."
Exodus 3:11
His response was:
"But I will be with you."
Exodus 3:12
You're not the first to ask, "Who am I?"

Perhaps the question isn’t only, “What do I have to offer?”
Perhaps there is a deeper place to begin:
Who is with me?
Before purpose, message or assignment, there is an invitation to draw near to the Lord — to know Him, remain in Him and learn to recognise His presence and leading.
And from that place, we can begin to look again.
Father, what do You want me to notice?
What might you recognise if you looked again — with the Father?
Your story holds more than the moments you would immediately call significant. There is the way God created you — the things you notice, the gifts and strengths that may come so naturally you barely recognise them as gifts at all.
And there is the life you have lived — experiences through which you have learned, grown and been shaped:
The places you've been.
The people you've served.
The work you've done.
The wisdom you've gained.
The things you've learned
The unexpected turns.
The hidden seasons.
The doors that opened and those that closed.
There may even be chapters you have already labelled failure, wasted years or too late.
You don’t need to manufacture meaning from every part of your story.
But you can bring it before the Father and ask:
What have You been forming in me?
Where can I recognise Your faithfulness?
Are there patterns You want me to notice?
Is there anything I've overlooked?
As you begin to look again with Him, some of the things you once considered disconnected may begin to look different.

When Nehemiah heard that Jerusalem’s wall was broken down and its gates had been destroyed, before he ever began rebuilding:
"He sat down. He wept. He mourned. He fasted. And he prayed before the God of heaven.

The stirring didn’t immediately become a plan.
It first drew Nehemiah into the presence of God.
Perhaps there is something for us to notice in that.
Before deciding what a stirring means, you can bring it before the Lord and ask:
Father, why does this keep drawing my attention?
What do You want me to notice?
Is there anything You want me to understand, pray about or faithfully respond to?
The response may be to pray, wait, support what God is already doing through someone else — or, in time, He may make clear that there is something He is inviting you to steward.
Draw near. Listen. And allow the Lord to lead.
