THE BEACON

An Invitation to Pause, Notice, and Continue Walking with Christ

Sometimes something catches our attention and we know immediately what to do with it.

Other times, a question remains. A Scripture keeps drawing us back. Something within our story begins to look different. A concern continues to trouble us. Or we begin noticing something in the places, relationships or responsibilities the Lord has entrusted to our care.

We may not yet understand why it matters or what, if anything, we are meant to do with it.

And perhaps we don't need to rush to know.

Through The Beacon, our newsletter published every second Friday, we create space to pause, remain close to Christ, and bring what we notice before the Father.

Together, we will open Scripture, ask questions, prayerfully discern and make room for the Lord to continue bringing clarity — allowing Him to shape our understanding, search our hearts, and show us what faithful response may look like.

Because faithful stewardship begins with Christ — and continues as we walk with Him.

A Place To Pause, Notice and Continue the Conversation

Each edition of The Beacon begins with a conversation worth exploring — perhaps something I have been noticing, a question a Steward has been carrying, a passage of Scripture that invites us to look again, a story of faithful stewardship, how to steward our message, or something the Lord has been bringing to my attention over time.

  • From the Beacon, we will explore that conversation together — not simply to arrive at another conclusion, but to consider what may be worth bringing before the Lord.

  • Open Scripture will invite us back to God's Word, making space to read, notice and allow Scripture to shape — and where necessary, challenge — our understanding.

  • Continue the Conversation may point you toward a podcast episode, Steward Resource or another carefully chosen resource that helps you explore the question more deeply.

  • Sometimes a conversation is worth continuing. You may find a podcast episode that speaks more deeply into the question being explored, a Steward Resource that helps you walk with the Lord around it, or another carefully chosen resource that can serve you where you are.

  • Walk with the Father will offer a question or invitation to take into your own time with the Lord, allowing the conversation to continue beyond the newsletter as you pray, listen and discern.

  • And when something calls us particularly to prayer, Standing in the Gap will invite us to intercede — remembering that sometimes the first faithful response to what we notice is not to speak, but to pray.

  • Stewarding Your Message

A practical space to explore how we faithfully steward the message the Lord has entrusted to us — through our testimony, conversations, writing, speaking, podcasting or other forms of communication. We’ll consider how to communicate with clarity, courage and love, steward our voice without striving for visibility, and choose methods that serve the message, the people we are called to serve, and the purposes of Christ.

From time to time, Around the Academy will also keep you connected with new resources, Gatherings, conversations and opportunities unfolding within Entrusted Steward Academy.

You do not need to engage with everything in every edition.

Everything Begins With Christ

Everything begins with Christ, everything returns to Christ, and the journey is lived and walked with Him.

There may be times when something you read in The Beacon confirms what you have already been noticing. Other times, it may cause you to pause, question an assumption, look again at something you have always believed, or recognise a concern you have struggled to put into words.

But noticing something does not mean we need to rush to a conclusion — or immediately decide what should be done about it.

We can bring it before the Lord.

We can open Scripture, pray, ask questions and allow Him to search our own hearts and understanding. We can intercede for the people or circumstances involved. We can wait. We can listen. And we can trust the Lord to continue bringing clarity as we walk with Him.

Sometimes faithful response will require courage to speak or act. Sometimes it may mean asking a question, sharing our testimony or choosing to do something differently. And sometimes the invitation may simply be to keep praying and allow the Lord to continue His work.

The aim is not to tell you what to think, but to encourage you to keep seeking the Lord, discerning through His Word and faithfully responding as He leads.

The Beacon is not the destination.

Christ is the One to whom we continually return.

You Don't Need to Have It All Figured Out

You do not need to be enrolled in an Entrusted Steward Academy program to receive The Beacon.

You do not need to know exactly what God is calling you to do, have a clearly articulated message, or understand where the stirring in your heart may be leading.

Perhaps something has been stirring for a while and you still don't fully understand why.

Perhaps the Lord is bringing something to your attention that others around you do not seem to notice. You may be reconsidering something you have always assumed to be true, recognising a recurring burden or concern, or beginning to see threads across your story that you had not recognised before.

Or perhaps you already know something of what the Lord has entrusted to you and are learning what it means to steward it faithfully in the place He has positioned you.

You do not need to rush to define what is happening.

A stirring is not necessarily an assignment. Recognition does not mean we yet understand the whole picture. And conviction does not always mean the first faithful response is to speak.

There may be a season of prayer. Of searching Scripture. Of intercession. Of allowing the Lord to challenge your own assumptions, deepen your understanding and continue forming you for whatever He may be preparing.

And when the time comes to respond, He may ask for courage. He may invite you to speak truth with love, share your testimony, ask a difficult question, stand differently, serve quietly, create another way, or continue faithfully praying where no one else can see.

Wherever you are in the journey, you are welcome here.

The Beacon is a place to be encouraged, strengthened and equipped as you continue listening, discerning, interceding and taking the next faithful step as He leads.
